<image:caption>Founded on July 15, 1981, the AANA Foundation celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2021. 40 for the 40th A message from Ron Castaldo, PhD, MBA, MS, CRNA, APRN, CCRN 2020-2021 AANA Foundation Chair: “Ruby is the 40th anniversary gemstone and represents an eternal flame which is still alive and strong after many years. The Foundation's gem level recognition for Ruby is an annual donation of $2,500 - $4,999. I've been a CRNA for 18 years, and I still have a deep passion for my work and career. In celebration of the Foundation's 40th Anniversary, I made a Ruby donation of $2,500. I'm looking for 39 others to join me, 40 Ruby donors for our 40th year. You can make a one-time donation or be a GEM (Give Every Month) at $210 per month to join me as a Ruby donor. Another generous option would be to donate $40 per month this year for a $480 annual donation. I know that everyone is in a different place in their life and career. Every donation, no matter the size, is greatly needed and will advance our profession. Thank you very much for your consideration and continued support!" <image:title>Leadership - Leadership Programs</image:title>
<image:caption>AANA Foundation is focused on offering Leadership programs that advance the knowledge of CRNAs. CRNA in leadership is critical to better representation of the profession and to improving business practices. Health Policy Institute In 2019 the AANA Foundation sent their inaugural CRNA class through the Health Policy Institute program at George Mason University in Arlington, Virginia. Five CRNAs were selected and funded to attend the nationally renowned seminar that aims to educate attendees about the recent, current, and expected approaches of health care law, as well as other health policy related issues. The program delves deep into the health policy making process and takes the time to teach attendees the knowledge and networking needed to have an impact in federal and state policy. Congressional Fellowship The AANA Foundation Congressional Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for CRNAs with an interest in Health Policy and is intended to provide an educational on-the-ground experience working in a Capitol Hill office. Fellows will work full time in a U.S. Congressional office in Washington, DC for approximately 6-9 months and gain valuable experience in the inner workings of the U.S. Congress and the legislative process. Fellows will participate in a variety of tasks such as assisting staff with a legislative portfolio including attending committee meetings and interacting with constituents. If you are interested in the AANA Foundation Congressional Fellowship, please submit a brief statement of interest by email to foundation@aana.com and include Health Policy Fellowship in the subject line. You will then be contacted when further details become available. CRNA Leadership Education We are looking to partner with a prestigious school of business to better prepare our CRNA leaders in the business arena. More information to come!</image:caption>

<image:caption>Tobias Keene, D.D.S. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. When not striving to keep his patients happy and healthy, he’s enjoys hiking with his family in Rock Creek Park.</image:caption>
